Paphiopedilum
Lady Isobel (P.rothschildianum x stonei)
This
primary hybrid between two giants of the Paphiopedilum world opens its flowers
almost simultaneously to display a mass of open blooms as seen here. Although
taking a number of years to reach flowering size all who see Lady Isobel in
bloom cannot but marvel at the splendor of the flowers. The plant shown in this
slide was part of a large display on the award winning stand of the Eric Young
Orchid Foundation at the 14th WOC in Glasgow, Scotland 1993.
